Get rid of the clutter

When you're displaying a website on your SMART Board, you can hit the F11 function key to hide all the toolbars and make the display as big as possible. This helps kids focus on the content and not the controls. To return to normal viewing, just hit the F11 key again.

This site is very engaging and it does not contain any advertising. It's very easy to use and the puzzles automatically enlarge to fit your entire monitor. That's not all.

A Librarian's Story

How a librarian used Smart Notebook 10 and a SMART Board to increase learning.

I worked with a second grade teacher. Her students researched animals classes and she wanted them to come up with their own wow facts about the classes. It was hard and we worked daily for a couple weeks doing research.

Each student only studied one animal class. Then back in the room they wrote nonfiction books which included the research and that they were going to share with each other. I asked her if the students could come down independently after the research to work on a "surprise" for her.

The students each came to the library with their research folder and picked several of their "Wow" facts about their animal class and we put them into a Notebook 10 application called the Magic Cat's Eye. Since we had only 5 different classes (skipping insects) - it was easy to have a template for the correct answer for each class of animal. All we had to do was type in the student's wow fact as the question - I put the student's name on that page and covered it with a pop balloon.

When all the students came in - the teacher and class came in and we did the review with The Magic Cat's Eye Notebook application and the SMART Board. The teacher was so amazed and happy. The students hadn't seen each others questions and it was a great review.

She was so happy, she invited in parents to see it on our open house parent day! The students had great fun calling up each other - or parents to answer the questions.
